Books to Talk About

The book review section of the Sunday New York Times has a full page ad that caught my eye – from the publishers at Knopf Doublday – 9 books to read and discuss.  I’ve read and reviewed five of them, dismissed one, and waiting for the other three to make it to my library system.

Have you read any?

  1. I’m surprised that I have read two, The Widower’s Tale and Cutting for Stone. Loved them both so guess I should try more on the list. But I have to admit I don’t think I’m very interested in IQ84. I’m probably the only one! There sure is a lot of buzz about it!

    • I hope some of my reviews will help you decide which to read. Of the five, The Night Circus was my favorite, but The Sense of an Ending is short and powerful. I’m on the list for 1Q84 – plan to give it a try, but 900 some pages sounds daunting.

  2. I have to admit I have not read any of them. But it can take me several years to catch up on current fiction, so it doesn’t really surprise me.
